Why We Go Back

Ever since we brought home Michael and Yabsera home in June of 2006 we knew we would go back. That being said we figured it might be a big family trip when Michael was about 10-12 years old. When I found out a year ago I could go back to do some teaching and shadowing, we realized this might be the last shot we had for many many years to bring Michael home for a visit.

I plan to write about our trip here so that all of you who have supported us over the years can follow our journey. We are as excited to return to the place where Michael and Yabsera spent their early years (or months) as we are to visit some of the orphan care centers which care for the kids with HIV before they are adopted and come home.

We will be visiting some of these care centers, some of the health care clinics which care for these kiddos and shadowing with several awesome health care providers and visiting some amazing programs which serve the children, pregnant women and families affected by HIV, TB and Malaria in Ethiopia. I will post about these organizations separately before we leave so you can see where we plan to go.

Thanks for helping us find the way back home.
